Washington “loves a good war,” so the saying goes– except perhaps now. Across the global theater of action, today’s guests on “The Covert Report” show how badly Obama-Crats have miscalculated in Ukraine and Syria, and why these two disastrous War could each ignite a global conflagration beyond Washington’s scope of control. My first guest is joining us from Beirut, Lebanon– Franklin Lamb, world class journalist, whose on the spot coverage of Syria, Libya and the Palestinian crisis have earned him the respect of the alternative media.

Without question, Lamb is one of the most penetrating and incisive journalists covering war zones today. Lamb gives an eye witness account on the surprising credibility of the Syrian Presidential elections, as measured by the determination of ordinary citizens to cast their ballots in Beirut and Syrian refugee camps, where President Assad had no possible sway. Lamb describes the politics of Hezbollah vs Takfirist Jihadis flooding into Syria from Lebanon, and the forces pushing Lebanon to a point of collapse. We look at how these jihadis just might have a very different destination than the stated plan– Lamb describes a proxy war against Iran that has unwittingly put Israel in the sights of discontented youth bought for cigarettes and $200 to fight President Assad. What’s sure is that Obama’s promise of weapons shipments to Syrian rebels is set to ignite a whole new level of bloodshed, and the outcome will be catastrophic and fraught with vengeance for the next 100 years for ordinary Syria civilians just trying to live with their families. In the second hour, we get an update on the Civil war engulfing Ukraine. My guest is Dennis Schedrivy, a fluent English speaking activist from Kharkiv in East Ukraine. Schedrivy speculates that Washington is mis-reading cues from President Putin, as Moscow seeks to exhaust channels of diplomacy before Russia is compelled to jump into the fighting. For the first time, Schedrivy says Russian civilians are joining the battle in earnest, coming to fight on behalf of their fellow Russian-speakers.

One thing’s clear: Obama’s policies are pushing the world to the brink of global war on two separate fronts. What’s unknown is how the Commander-in-Chief of the “free world” plans to stay out of the crisis! And how Washington envisions it will protect its influence once the fighting stops?
