Bribing a Judge would buy a one-way ticket to San Quentin for any defendant caught trying to fix a case. Unless the crook in question was a Los Angeles County official, and the bribe was part of a $400 million non-taxable “subsidy” to Judges salaries. Dapper Beverly Hills attorney, Richard Fine learned the hard way how far Judges in California will go to protect that golden goose. Fine was held in solitary confinement at the Los Angeles County Men’s Central Jail for 18 months on contempt of court charges by Superior Court Judge David Yaffe, after he brought several court cases alleging corruption by LA county officials.
“I ended up in jail because I did the one thing no other lawyer in California is willing to do. I took on the corruption of the courts.”
Today’s interview with Richard Fine explores the depth of that corruption, which persists to this day impacting every aspect of citizen rights against county usurpation– Most importantly, Richard Fine demonstrates what the Campaign for Judicial Integrity is fighting to do about it. This is a story of harrowing fortitude in the midst of unmitigated judicial corruption. Don’t miss it!
