Tonight’s guest is Steve Bossert of The Hudson Valley Digital Network. Steve shares a ton of stuff regarding camping hiking backpacking emergency preparedness, being familiar with your gear carrying a flashlight and many other parts of good backpacking, camping, and emergency preparedness tactics and techniques. Steve has been working toward integrating the amateur radio community with preservation of ecology in the Hudson Valley as well as helping local hams network and connect in new ways. Steve has written many articles on HVDN.org related to amateur radio, DMR, HF, backpacking, camping, hiking, fox hunting and many more exciting amateur radio related activities on his website. Tonight’s show includes a very special guest appearance from Jonathan Gong of the You-Tube channel “TheFossilChannel” from out in the field atop Sam’s Point in Minnewaska park. Jonathan shares his gear in the field and relates about all the pieces he carries, how they integrate, and how they deploy in the field for maximum effectiveness.
