A man and woman reportedly fell to their death over a picturesque cliff in Portugal on Saturday while trying to take a selfie.

Local English news site the Portugal Resident said the couple climbed over safety barriers at Cabo da Roca to get a better view for their shot when they toppled over the 140-metre cliff and into the water below, as their children looked on in horror.

Their bodies have still not been recovered.

The spot at the edge of Europe is a famous one for photos and this is reportedly not the first time visitors have fallen to their death trying to get a photo.
