Not only has police brutality been taken to some of the highest levels ever seen before in human history, the private prison industry is actually threatening states that have low numbers of arrests and convictions to get more people into prison, or they will be forced to pay fines to them!

With the idea that people being decent and good is “bad for business”, they routinely team up with the mainstream media and local school systems to highlight crimes that aren’t really crimes (such as petty drug crime) in order to brainwash them into calling the authorities to come and punish them, so that these private prisons can keep up their “occupancy quota” (which, in some states, is 100%).

The report, “Criminal: How Lockup Quotas and ‘Low-Crime Taxes’ Guarantee Profits for Private Prison Corporations,” finds three Arizona prisons must be filled to capacity under terms of its contract with Management and Training Corporation.

If those beds aren’t filled, the state must compensate the company.

The Corrections Corporation of America, for instance, made an offer last year to the governors of 48 states that included a 90% occupancy quota for the next twenty years! The report also found that 41 out of the 62 contracts reviewed carried such occupancy requirements. The highest occupancy quotas were found in Arizona, Oklahoma and Virginia.
