(CNSNews.com) A new video depicts graphic scenes of a black man being dragged from his home and hanged from a tree by white men in hooded gowns with a burning cross as a backdrop – a reminder, producers say, of laws that once banned African-Americans from owning firearms.
“Gun control is not a new idea in America,” the text states in the 30-second video released by the Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE). “A call for background checks invokes painful memories of Jim Crow and black codes.”
Star Parker, the founder of CURE, which is launching the “Never Again” ad campaign, says in the video that, “Taking guns from the law-abiding many puts too much power in the hands of an ill-intended few.”
The Second Amendment of the Constitution is a right for all Americans, including blacks, to protect themselves and their families from both private and public violence, she told CNSNews.com.
“It’s very important that we don’t allow gun control to happen again in this country,” Parker said.
If the “Never Again” video is disturbing, that is the point, Parker said. The idea is to educate people about a dark part of the nation’s history when African-Americans were unable to defend themselves because of gun control laws.
In the video, it notes that part of the Mississippi Black Code in 1865 said, “No freedman, Negro, or mulatto shall carry or keep firearms or ammunition,” and further states, “Gun control is unacceptable in America. Never again.”
Ladd Everitt, communications director with the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, said he does not think the “Never Again” video ad reflects the opinion of the majority of African-Americans.
“I don’t think this is the genuine opinion of African-Americans in this country,” Everitt told CNSNews.com, referencing polls that he said supported his view. “No group has supported gun control more than African-Americans and that goes back decades.”
President Obama has not just been speaking in front of cameras with victims of gun violence staged behind him, he’s also been busy bypassing Congress by signing executive orders and other actions.
In January, Obama issued 23 executive gun control proposals that were mostly organizational and procedural in nature. But now he has officially signed his first definitive executive order to take gun control into his own hands, according to The Hill.
The Hill reports:
The president has used his executive powers to bolster the national background check system, jumpstart government research on the causes of gun violence and create a million-dollar ad campaign aimed at safe gun ownership.
The executive steps will give federal law enforcement officials access to more data about guns and their owners, help keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill, and lay the groundwork for future legislative efforts.
Obama’s Department of Justice says their aim is to strengthen the “quality and quantity of records contained within the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).”
Last week the DOJ announced that it is pouring $20 million into beefing up the national gun registry.
“As part of President Obama’s comprehensive plan to reduce gun violence, the Administration is committed to enhancing and strengthening the national criminal record system in support of stronger firearm background checks,” said Attorney General Eric Holder. “The Department of Justice intends to take immediate and effective action to work with states to fill gaps in information currently available to the NICS system.”
Funding will be provided under National Criminal History Improvement Program (NCHIP), NICS Act Record Improvement Program (NARIP), and a new, one-time initiative called, Improving the Completeness of Firearm Background Checks through Enhanced State Data Sharing. This new initiative creates a competitive grant program designed to incentivize states, territories and tribes to share information with NICS by closing information gaps that inhibit complete and accurate background checks.
Obama’s administrative action also included plans for more research into “trigger locks and firearm safe standards to determine if they need to be improved” – aka smart guns, and $1 million to promote gun control through a propaganda campaign.
The Hill writes:
Separately, the administration has given $1 million to the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) to create, produce and distribute a nationwide multimedia ad campaign on safe gun ownership and storage. The campaign is heading into the research phase and is expected to air by the early fall, according to a NCPC spokeswoman.
Isn’t this something the NRA does for free, funded by memberships? These multimedia ads will most likely be some ghastly “see something, say something” campaign to help viewers identify “irresponsible” gun owners.
Finally, this executive order will subsidize the surveillance-industrial complex through a “Cooperative Purchasing” program to provide schools with discounted rates for “surveillance cameras, emergency communication systems, security design and support, and employee background check systems.”
Federally-funded Big Brother surveillance for schools by executive order. It seems the gun control frenzy is bearing more tyrannical fruit than could have been dreamed up by Orwell himself.
In summary, Obama has signed an executive order to expand and improve the gun database with $20 million in funding, appropriated money for a anti-gun propaganda blitz, and wants all schools tracked, traced, and databased.
If the motivation for an executive order like this was anything but gun control, Americans would probably be mortified. But instead, the numbed masses will likely cheer that he is finally doing something to avenge senseless murder. Problem-Reaction-Solution accomplished.
How “kill the pigs” became “only the police should have guns”
by Jon Rappoport
March 30, 2013
In the fabled 1960s, the cops were called pigs, and anybody on the political Left who wanted a ticket to the show knew that and mouthed it often.
At rallies, protests, and riots, people said: are the pigs here yet? I heard they were three blocks away. Wonder how many pigs they’re sending today? There! There they are! The pigs!
Now, on the Left, that tradition has morphed into: repeal the 2nd Amendment; turn in your guns; citizens with guns are satanic; the police will protect us; a private citizen with a gun is a killer and needs psychiatric lockdown; suspend that five-year old with the gun screen-saver.
In 1968, if you asked a leftie college student whether a black man living in the inner city had a right to own a gun to protect himself against the cops, the answer, ten out of ten times, would have been yes.
Now, that leftie kid will be talking about the insanity of anybody owning a gun. Except for the cops.
Big Government: An Unnecessary Evil That Should Be AbolishedBrandon Smith
There are two types of people in this world; those who worship the ideal of centralized command authority, and those who do not. Those who value freedom regardless of risk or pain, and those who value slavery in a desperate bid to avoid risk and pain. When I consider the ultimate folly of man, in the end I look to the meek and unquestioning masses who strive to avoid risk, because it is they who always end up feeding the machines of war, despair, and tyranny. The power thirsty halls of elitism surely instigate and manipulate the tides of this wretched ocean of quivering souls, but ultimately, the weak-hearted and weak minded make all terrible conquests possible.
They live by the rule of fear, and their fear drives them to seek control; control of their environment, control of others, and by extension they believe, control of the future. They attempt to mitigate their overwhelming fear by containing the world and sterilizing it of everything wild, untamed, and unknown. They dream of a society of pure predictability, and zero responsibility. They are willing to sacrifice almost anything to attain this position of artificial comfort.
Government in most cases is nothing but an abstraction. It is merely a tool that serves the interests of a particular group of people at any given time. Modern politics is an expression of the foolish cat fight between factions of people to decide who gets to wield the weapon of government and impose their ideology on the rest of us. At least, that’s what it almost always devolves into. The great illusion of the system, though, is that ANY group of average people ever actually wields any power. The truth is, big governments are always operated by very small and exclusive clubs of root beneficiaries out of the sight of the population.
The smaller this dominant group becomes, the more corrupt and criminal the government generally is. A government reaches a state of despotism whenever its functions are twisted for the sake of an elite few to the detriment of the common man, and when it ignores the natural inborn rights of the individual for the sake of some fabricated collective . If one were to closely examine the birth of every iron-fisted oligarchy throughout history, they would find a cyclical pattern of centralization; the removal of checks and balances, the removal of legitimate public involvement in the political process, a dependent and infantized citizenry, and the rise of a “bureaucratic class” which regards itself as superior and born to lead. All steps taking place within Western societies today.
Unfortunately, the masses tend to view big government as an inevitability of life; as a natural extension of culture. Rarely if ever do they ask what tangible purpose it serves. Are they really getting what they want out of their government? Or, is the government taking what it wants from them?
I have always found the worshipful attitude that some citizens ascribe to government simultaneously fascinating and disturbing, because these people are not bowing down to a wise and benevolent entity. Rather, they are bowing down to their own delusions of what they believe that entity to be. The most dangerous and insidious of governments present themselves as a kind of social vanity mirror. They allow the citizenry to project their collective desires, biases, shortcomings, and fears, and reflect back an image that entices and placates the majority. The lies and manipulations of big government are designed to satiate our basest fantasies, but what we see as a concrete edifice of political and legal might, in the end, is a mirage mired in the fog of our own naïve expectations.
So, the question again arises; if the structure of big government is built upon deceit and misrepresentation, what tangible purpose does it really serve?
There are many arguments to be made against the concept of government: arguments from effect, arguments of morality. But there is an even more fundamental argument to consider: government authority does not exist.
The seizing of power is not always accomplished by military coup or even at the ballot box. As the old saying goes, there’s more than one way to skin a cat, some being so subtle and gradual, flying below the radar and stealthily creeping piecemeal into society in the guise of benefiting the “greater good” that by the time a slumbering society is awakened to the danger, it is firmly entrenched and extremely powerful.
The early stages of such takeovers seldom affect the whole of society at any one time. It’s accomplished by fostering confusion, class envy and the feeling that somebody is not paying their “fair share,” that there are people who don’t want the masses to have a level playing field, don’t want poor people to have health care or adequate food and housing and the problems of the underclass are all their fault.
A public which is mostly convinced that the system needs changing and don’t really mind the painful ones as long as it’s “them” not us that it happens to, not realizing that the pain will eventually fall on them, also.
Can it happen in America? The answer to that is that it’s already happening in America.
The unchallenged presidential fiat, a legislative body too politically expedient or just too lazy to fully read or comprehend the bills they pass, giving too much latitude to government agencies run by appointed bureaucrats with some idealistic ax to grind.
The give an inch, take a mile regulation of agencies that turn out reams of meaningless caveats make breaking their petty rules all but impossible.

(NaturalNews) Another Hollywood figure has come out in opposition of the very constitutional right that protects his ability to make a living, as oblivious to the hypocrisy of his position as he is out of place on his phony pedestal.
Canadian comedian Jim Carrey, as many readers already know, has just released a video insulting tens of millions of gun owners and, in the same effort, alienating scores of fans who will show their disdain, as I have chosen to do, by closing their wallets and never paying to see another of his movies, ever, as long as they live. (The video is of course online but I won’t patronize him by linking to it; but I will link to this petition seeking his deportation to his native and increasingly crime-ridden, as well as largely unarmed, country.)
Suffice it to say Carrey’s use of his First Amendment right to trash the Second Amendment is nothing more than the latest attempt by the bastion of useful idiots that is Hollywood, in an attempt to denigrate and abuse many of the same people who enrich them. Carrey’s ridiculous spoof, in which he also targets the late but still revered Hollywood icon Charlton Heston (for his stint as NRA chief) was launched via a vulgar Twitter message, in which he called gun owners “heartless mother***kers.” Nice, huh?

The Obama administration and its controversial Department of Homeland Security are under fire for sending what is being described as a “chilling” message to U.S. Border Patrol agents demanding “obedience,”Liberty News Network (LNN) national correspondent and law-enforcement advocate Andy Ramirez revealed in an exclusive video report (see below) calling for Congress to investigate. The word “obedience” was defined on the official TV screens as: “quickly and cheerfully carrying out the direction of those who are responsible for me.”
Reliable sources inside the agency confirmed to Ramirez, who also serves as president of the Law Enforcement Officers Advocates Council (LEOAC), that the controversial message demanding “obedience” was displayed for agents on TV monitors in the San Diego and Tucson sectors last week. In his explosive video for LNN exposing the scheme, Ramirez also provided a picture of the “propaganda” graphic that he obtained from a source within Customs and Border Protection (CBP) who requested anonymity (see photo above).
“This ‘Obedience’ order just continues a long recent history of intimidation going back to the 2004 ‘gag order’ by then-Chief David Aguilar,” Ramirez told The New American in an interview, referring to a controversial non-disclosure agreement purporting to bar agents from releasing important information to lawmakers and the media. “The primary point of this all is to purge the patrol of experienced agents who refuse to go along to get along.”
Calling for congressional hearings to investigate the controversial “obedience” message, Ramirez said the scheme was frightening. “Cheerfully?!” he exclaimed about the graphic, sounding bewildered. “Responses I’m hearing from sources at the Border Patrol include the words Orwellian, creepy, sickening, craziness, Nazi handbook — and those are just the ones I can actually repeat.”
Ramirez also wondered what happens to Border Patrol agents who do not “cheerfully” engage in “obedience” upon demand, especially if orders included instructions to violate the Constitution, for example. “Do they go to one of the long-rumored FEMA camps guarded by employees and DHS armored personnel carriers?” he asked. “Perhaps we hear loudspeakers playing ‘Deutschland, Deutschland Uber Alles’ — something out of Hitler’s Nazi Germany?”
Alternatively, Ramirez speculated half-seriously, there could be an even more chilling fate awaiting those who refuse to carry out unlawful or unconstitutional orders. “Are they now classified as domestic terrorists, in which case a yet-to-be-identified official at the Department of Justice can have them taken out with a drone strike?” he wondered. “As we just heard in recent congressional hearings, that’s pretty much what can now happen; a drone strike on an individual who is considered a terrorist on U.S. soil.”
