Apparently, some people find the idea of freedom for all regardless of race, religion, sexual preference, etc. quite confusing, as admitted by Business Insider journalist Laura Stampler in her recent article, “Everyone Is Confused About The Pro-Gay, Pro-Gun Posters Plastered Over Washington State”.

Think Progress practically had a stroke over the entire ordeal. In actuality, this is a fine learning tool for acknowledging and verifying something we find in the mass consciousness often: cognitive dissonance.

gunposter1According to the media, this poster that “features a topless lesbian couple…suggests that laws intended to prevent gun violence are the moral equivalent of discrimination“.

gunposter2And this one just tickles me to death. It’s a blatant slap in the face/soothing the other side of it for both sides of both issues (this being the pro-gay/anti-gay and pro-gun rights/anti-gun rights non-issue issues we’re supposed to be so hopelessly concerned with that we base our entire political ideology on scrutinizing the behavior of others in order to get what we want done politically). In the mainstream media, this one goes along with the caption, “Another poster proposes armed vigilantism to “defend” the right to marry”! Oh Noes! Ah, cognitive dissonance: Works every time.

We salute whoever made these posters!
