You all know how much of a science geek i am, and we all laugh and joke at the nickname we have jokingly assigned to me, you know “quantum kev” , so tonight im pretty nervous and extremely excited. I can safely say its not very often you get to speak to someone that has attempted to view the immediate moments after the big bang, but thats exactly what tonights guest is attempting to do!
Dr Brian Keating is a professor of physics at the Center for Astrophysics & Space Sciences (CASS) in the Department of Physics at the University of California, San Diego. He is a public speaker, inventor, and an expert in the study of the universe’s oldest light, the cosmic microwave background (CMB), using it to learn about the origin and evolution of the universe. Keating is a pioneer in the search for the earliest physical evidence of the inflationary epoch, the theorized period of expansion of space in the early universe directly after the Big Bang.
Dr Brian Keating is also the author of the book titled…
LOSING THE NOBEL PRIZE
The inside story of a quest to unlock one of cosmology’s biggest mysteries, derailed by the lure of the Nobel Prize. What would it have been like to be an eyewitness to the Big Bang?
The book has been described as on of the greatest stories told in cosmology, & he is here live on the kev baker show to get into all of this with us.
