FOX 26 News | MyFoxHouston federal documents rank Houston as third in a pretty alarming category according to an online news site that investigates national security issues. According to those documents Houston is ranked third for having a high number of people on the U.S. terrorist watch list.

When you hear the word terrorist, we all think about September 11th. New York remains first in having the most people on the federal terrorist watch list according to National Counter Terrorism Center. But Houston’s not far behind.

“I would hasten to say it’s a threat to Houston, but I certainly would say it’s an eye opener to Houston,” Former Head of Houston FBI Don Clark said.

Clark said he’s not surprised where Houston ranks because of its diversity and more people from all over the world are moving here. He said naturally bad guys will come here, too.

“ It’s about identifying people who have given some signals that they’re about to do something that would certainly not be healthy for the United States of America,” Clark said.

Dearborn, Michigan follows New York as second which has the city’s large muslim population upset. But Clark said terrorism is not about a particular race and that it’s a threat for every city.

He adds it is concerning that these documents were leaked in the first place. The list cites San Diego as fourth and Chicago as fifth.
