As I covered here yesterday, we see children are automatically under the auspices of law enforcement and the education system. Parents have no control or authority in their child’s life when they attend organized schools.
This child taken into the gentle arms of Texas Police is what (ahem) alarms me more than any supposed bomb. When one looks at what Ahmed built, and sees what looks like a geek invention, one wonders at those teachers and policemen who are so fearful. People need strong and brave members of society to be teachers and cops, not these shriveling mewling daisies.
‘Looks like a bomb’: Muslim teen Ahmed arrested for bringing homemade clock to school; Released

A 14-year-old Muslim boy who loves to invent things was handcuffed and arrested after bringing a homemade clock to his Texas high school. The arrest prompted speculations of Islamophobia, but police say they won’t charge him with creating a “hoax bomb.”
Ahmed Mohamed, a ninth grader from Irving, Texas, was eager to impress his teachers with his newest creation – a clock which he invented in just 20 minutes, consisting of a circuit board and a power supply wired to a digital display. The clock and its wirings were all strapped inside a case.
But when he showed his engineering teacher the clock, he didn’t receive the response he was hoping for.
“He was like, ‘That’s really nice,’” Ahmed said, as quoted by the Dallas Morning News. “‘I would advise you not to show any other teachers.’”
Ahmed took his advice, keeping the invention in his bag for the rest of the day. But when the clock’s alarm went off during English class, the teacher complained.
When the 14-year-old showed his teacher the source of the beeping, she said: “It looks like a bomb.” Ahmed responded by saying it didn’t look like a bomb to him.
Why the engineering teacher was not fetched to confirm Ahmed’s story, is beyond me. But the teachers and FIVE COPS questioned the lithe 14 year old boy without his legal guardians. They took mug shots of him!

“An officer and the principal came and took me and they took me to a room filled with five officers,” Ahmed said. “They interrogated me and searched through my stuff and took my tablet and my invention.”
Ahmed told the Morning News that when he was taken into the room for questioning, an officer said, “Yup. That’s who I thought it was.” Ahmed, whose family immigrated to the US from Sudan, said he started feeling self-conscious about his Muslim name and brown skin.
The officers reportedly asked him whether he tried to make a bomb. Ahmed said he told them it was just a clock. After the questioning, the police led Ahmed out of school in handcuffs.
He was then taken to a juvenile detention center.
“They searched me, they took the fingerprint and mugshots of me, and they searched me until my parents came and then I got to leave and go to the station,” he said. “And I went home and talked to my parents about it because I couldn’t call my parents during the interrogation.”
The police are still investigating the case.
The only ‘case’ the police need to be investigating is the case of terror conducted on this child who is by accounts, a good student working hard on his studies. The terrorism in this country is done by the Americans on each other.
There used to be a time when the photos of minors were not to be displayed in the press. But Ahmed’s sister asked for his image to be shared on the net and press.
I expect they will have more to say tomorrow, but Ahmed's sister asked me to share this photo. A NASA shirt! pic.twitter.com/nR4gt992gB
