“We must listen to the experts!!!” we are told…ad nauseam…these days. But is defaulting to experts in the medical field (or in any other specialized field of life) a sensible thing to do when confronted with an issue that impacts many different and varied areas of life? When you think about it, perhaps “listening to the experts” is the worst thing we could do in such times–I explain why. Also, should the recent overreactions by government at all levels cause us to reconsider the very idea of a “social contract”, or of governance itself?
