Joe was joined by Shawn O’Connor of Free Enterprise Society Services (shawnoconnor.org) once again co-hosting a Q and A show, normally on the first Saturday of the month but this time a week later on September 12th. Topics discussed include the 16th Amendment, the events that led to the proposing of the 16th Amendment, the passage of the 16th Amendment by the Congress, the ratification process that followed, the evidence proving that the 16th Amendment was never ratified, whether or not the 16th Amendment, even if treated as ratified, expanded federal taxing power, and the practical effects of the 16th Amendment issue for Americans today. We also mentioned Phil Hart’s book “Constitutional Income Do You Have Any?” http://www.constitutionalincome.com and we discussed Red Beckman and Bill Benson evidence that the 16th Amendment was never ratified. Supposedly ratified on Feb 3rd, 1913 and proclaimed on February 25th, 1913, evidence of non-ratification was presented in a criminal case and denied admission into evidence because the documents were not properly certified. Benson set out to secure the documents certified from each state and from federal archives and did secure them. Beckman and Benson published a book “The Law That Never Was” providing the evidence of non-ratification. We described how Senator Orrin Hatch arranged for a lobbyist to attempt to bribe Benson to not publish and sell his book.
