Seattle Police say it was an act of kindness that led an officer to a suspect’s confession and stolen property.

On Saturday, around 7:15 a.m. an officer was picking up his breakfast when he heard a suspect description on his radio for a nearby burglary in the 400 block of NW 100th Place.

The officer began talking with the man and was soon joined by the officer from the burglary investigation, and a witness.

The man was arrested, but before putting on the handcuffs the officer gave the suspect the sandwich he’d just bought for his own breakfast.
