Barrett Brown is an American activist, author, and freelance writer/journalist, whose work has appeared in the Guardian, Vanity Fair, Huffington Post, and Businessweek, in addition to guest interviews on MSNBC, Fox News and Russia Today.
His work as a journalist caught the attention of the FBI when he founded Project PM, a think-tank which reports on matters related to the clandestine world of the intelligence contracting industry. His reporting struck a few uncomfortable chords, not least for his satirical tone of free speech, and he was arrested in September, 2012. Texas Judge issued a gag order to prohibit Brown from sharing his own story, while he’s awaiting trial, and his efforts to warn other activists of the loss of his most fundamental rights of free speech, the cornerstone of his federal indictment. In this interview, his lead supporter, Kevin Gallagher exposes the facts of the case that are being manipulated by the Justice Department. In the second hour, we have a special interview with “Fatah”– my secret source on Libya, who travels in and out of the country to an undisclosed location. She’s in danger of arrest and torture every time she enters the country. “Fatah” gives us breaking news on the Green Resistence’s success in taking control of southern Libya. By all accounts, the Green Revolution is now fully underway and uniting local peoples. Don’t miss this show!
