INDIANAPOLIS –

Another touching gesture by an IMPD officer was caught on camera this week.

Pacer’s center Roy Hibbert captured the first ‘random act of kindness’ and posted it on social media. It showed an officer getting out of his car and giving a homeless man a pair of boots.

That attracted national attention, with tens of thousands of tweets and Facebook “likes.”

Now, IMPD is sharing another image sent in by a citizen. Someone snapped the photo of an officer walking hand-in-hand with a small child. The department said he was comforting the child after responding to a domestic disturbance.

In the first 12 hours after the picture was posted, it got nearly 3,000 “likes” on Facebook and hundreds of “shares.”
