Spirit of the Stone
Properties and Characteristics
Properties – hardness and geometrical structure.
Crystals have degrees of hardness based on the Mohs scale, from 1 to 10, 10 being the hardest. A diamond is a 10, and 1 would be gypsum and soapstone.
There are seven Geometrical structures, some of which I have a hard time pronouncing. They are: Cubic (Lapis Lazuli and diamond), Trigonal (Ruby and hematite), Hexagonal (Emerald and the beryl family – Morganite, Golden Beryl or Heliodore, aquamarine and white or Goshenite), Tetragonal (Zircon), Ortho-rhombic (Celestite), Monoclinic (Azurite and malachite), and Triclinic (Sunstone). Obsidian does not have a crystalline structure because it is formed in the rapid solidification of lava when it comes in contact with cold water.
What attracts us to Stones? The Law of Attraction. The stone or crystal will choose use, and do not give your power away to a book. Use books for references only. Mainly, we are attracted to the colors associated with healing and the physical body.
