Recently, a former drug-addicted robber wrote his victims apologizing and repaying what he’d stolen 11 years earlier, according to local media outlet WMSV.

Somboon Wu, the owner of the Interasian Market and Deli in Nashville, TN received a hand-delivered letter last week. A former crook wrote to his robbery victims apologizing and repaying what he’d stolen 11 years earlier.

The letter stated that he was a drug addict who had stolen a six-pack of beer and $300 from the store. $400 was also included in the letter.

“I do not use drugs anymore, and I feel I must make amends to the people I have hurt in the past,” the letter stated. “I hope you will accept this money and find forgiveness. Peace be with you, Anonymous.”

Wu’s father had been working at the store when it was robbed, and Wu explained to WMSV that the man must’ve been a good-hearted person who was just in a bad situation at the time:

“We just want to let him know, if he’s watching, wherever life takes you, we forgive you for what you did,” said Wu.
